John explains his involvement in Keeping Pace, Inc.:
Many kids with CP have to wear braces for their feet. The technical term for these braces is ankle-foot orthotics; we just call them AFOs. It is hard to find shoes that will accommodate AFOs. Recently, I became part-owner of a company that makes specialty shoes for kids with CP and others. The company is run by people who have children with special needs, including CP. The president is Lori Watson, whom I first met at Gillette Children's Hospital where her son also had his surgeries.
